VET’ PLATINUM HONDA S2000

“Life is not about what you have, it’s about what you make with what you have.” Wise words to kick us off. Vyet Le is a valued photographer here at THE-LOWDOWN, but rather than go behind the lens on this occasion, Vyet has put his S2000 in front of it. To many the Platinum Pearl White S2K below would be a dream car, but it wasn’t what Vyet had planned. We’ll let him tell the story.

NISSAN 180SX RPS13

The Irish modified car scene is a strange one. On one hand, you have lots of people who only follow the pack, scared to move outside of their comfort zones. On the other hand, you have people like Keith Wheldon who prefers to go his own way. You can check out the full and in-depth feature on Speedhunters but I’ll summarize Keith’s 180SX in one sentence – this is the best built and most considered RPS13 ever built in Ireland. Oh, and it’s his daily driver too …

COLIN’S SLEEPER OF AN S12 NISSAN

One quick glance at this 1987 Nissan 200SX S12 Silvia, owned by Colin Masterson, and you’ll think it’s just another nice looking S12 with a few simple, yet tasteful modifications with very little (if any at all) engine modifications. This S12 features more than just simple engine modifications…

BOSOZOKU STYLED CELICA

After all the new school cars we've been featuring on Speedhunters, I found this Toyota Celica in true Bosozoku style. This car caught my attention a while ago, but I knew it would be a great addition to this month's theme. This Celica was build in 1975 for the Australian market but after Alfonzo, the owner, picked it up back in 2006 he transformed the car into this midnight crawler. It wouldn't be out of place during one of the many midnight meetings at Daikoku Futo.

AN R32 WITH A DIFFERENCE...

R32 Skylines have always been one of the cars on my “to own before I die” list. With a lot of rough and ready examples out there it can often be hard to find a good one to start off with. However Amjed Aslam’s freshly painted GTS-T is not a beaten up skidder, but a clean, purpose built drift car.

K-POWERED ’79 CIVIC

For me it seems that as the years go on I get more and more impressed by the unique and high quality build threads you come across on the net’s vast sea of automotive forums. No matter what part of the world you are in, chances are that a cool project is brewing  in a garage near you.

RISKY DEVIL 180SX

There are certain cars that make an lasting impression, and it’s no different with this 180SX. I have seen this car on so many automotive forums from around the world, I knew I had to feature it here on Speedhunters. Last weekend, I had a party at my house with lots of friends, not all of them are into cars, and when I showed them these pictures even they said ‘Hell Yeah’. That’s the same feeling I got when I first saw this car.

RE-POWERED NA6CE IN BC

If you look at all of Mazda’s sports cars from recent times, the two that stand out the most have to be the RX7 and the MX-5. The “Seven” is of course known for its unconventional rotary engine while the MX-5 is the world’s best selling sports car due to its low price and high fun factor. What do you get when you combine both? You get cars like this NA6CE Miata owned by AJ Phelps from the Vancouver, BC area. AJ saw that we were featuring Mazda this month and sent us some photos of his project, and we quickly agreed that this car deserved to be featured

420HP SUPER STREET RX-7

It takes a brave individual to build a car like this. To look at what most street cars are and decide not to play by the rules. The rest of us take small steps, upgrading a piece here and a bit there, but Ras took a different approach. It’s almost like he sat there and thought, “Why shouldn’t I have it all?” If you’ve ever wanted to see a street FD that deserves to be called ‘the ultimate’, your search has just come to an end.

Super Sexy Silvia – Nikki Marsh’s Kouki S14

S14s come in many different styles and range from standard, tame cars, to outright insanely powered race cars. Nikki Marsh’s Kouki Silvia is a perfect combination of power and style, in my opinion it’s the perfect S Body.
