EUROSPEC TIME ATTACK EVO VI

A lot of people argue  that the EVO VI was the meanest of them all. The care that we’re featuring this time was almost stock months ago, with only cosmetic and exhaust mods. It definitely had nothing in common with the beast that is now, Dr Jekyll decided to show its true spirit. Mr. Hyde is purpose built for one reason: slaying puppies. In all seriousness… to terrorize tarmac in the UK Time Attack series, under the hands, or better yet right foot of Christopher Hamer.

WHIFBITZ TIME ATTACK TOYOTA SUPRA

Power is never enough for some people. The car, or monster,  that we are going to introduce during this feature breakes all the rules, power wise! Talk about Time “travel” Attack. Its power output? 1178bhp at 1.9bar on pump fuel and 1336bhp at 2.4bar with the aid of race fuel.

SILVER BULLET EVO X

I have yet to see a EVO X on the road in Europe – I have seen one in real life, but only at a dealer… but the EVO X seems to be a bit hit in America and is quickly becoming a popular tuning platform. The Chicago-based AMS shop is one of the leading proponents of US Evo tuning and they built up this ‘silver bullet’ street/Time Attack machine. They got the car fresh from the dealer with only a few miles on the odometer and started to tear it apart. The guys at AMS started the build with one thing in mind, and that was to create a street drivable, time attack machine. So it needed to be lightweight and it had to pack a serious punch.

BUILD: TOP FUEL VOLTEX HONDA S2000

Picking a clear winner for Yokohama’s World Time Attack Challenge this year just can’t be done. It is the most fierce lineup of time attack machinery we’ve ever seen in one place. But if you ask the guys behind the scenes, they’ve picked the Top Fuel/Voltex S2000 as the most threatening international entry. We got an exclusive invite, thanks to Garage88, to come and see this insane Honda up close last night, so here’s a sneak peek at this Pro Class competitor.

PROJECT NEMO

During last year's World Time Attack Challenge I bumped into Andrew Brilliant, a well known aerodynamicist from Yokohama, Japan. Andrew has developed aero for not only high profile time attack cars, but also for Super GT, GRAND-AM Rolex and American Le Mans. One of his recent projects caught our attention: this impressive, all-carbon bodied Evo known as Nemo.

MOTIVE TIME ATTACK S14

If you know anything of Andrew Hawkins and his S14 200SX, you will understand why we think of it as a cat with nine lives.  JET200 has faced more than its fair share of hurdles during the nine years of Andrew’s ownership, but despite the challenges that have presented themselves, it has always come out on top.

BYP’S HOMEMADE CIVIC RACECAR

I don’t think any of us thought we would have been given such privileged access to the build up of this car. It’s been a complete pleasure to witness the hard work and dedication that this focused BYP team have shown with their Civic project. With precious little preparation time before the World Time Attack Challenge, the boys of BYP opened the doors of their backyard for our final look-in on the car before the event itself. It’s a space like no other, with parts of all kinds scattered across the pavers. This backyard is the workshop that the Civic spends most of it’s time in. Built and dismantled time and again by Jim and Ben Tran.
